Hawzah News agency (Qom, Iran) – Senior Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi took part in a public march to commemorate the event of Ghadir Khumm which was held in Qom, Iran on Saturday.

In the sidelines of this public gathering, the Shia source of emulation highlighted the importance of Eid al-Ghadeer saying, “This holiday is intended to commemorate the high position of Imamate and it serves to preserve Islam; The event of Ghadir Khumm is the main foundation of all incidents which took place following the demise of Prophet Muhammad (sawa), therefore it must never be marginalized or forgotten. “  

The senior scholar hailed people’s massive participation in this march on Eid al-Ghadeer and concluded, “People must become familiar with the truth of Ghadir Khumm and we must celebrate this great holiday as magnificent and glorious as we can.”
